4th of July BBQ EVENT

On a warm and vibrant 4th of July, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community joyously brought together neighbors of all backgrounds for a memorable BBQ event, showcasing the true essence of unity and cultural diversity. In a world where division and prejudice sometimes cloud our judgment, this gathering stood as a testament to the power of inclusivity and the importance of fostering strong bonds within the community.

Dallas Jamat Ansar sent invites through personal contacts, social media (FB and Nextdoor), email lists from previous events and also distributed invites to ~100 neighbors of the mosque. We received 52 RSVPs and had 59 attendees. Alhamodolillah.

The event took place at Baitul Ikram mosque, where the aroma of grilled delicacies filled the air. Ansar and Khudam worked tirelessly to ensure that the occasion reflected the spirit of this cherished American holiday, celebrating not only the nation’s independence but also the diverse tapestry of cultures that make it so unique.

The event’s success was a result of meticulous planning and dedication from volunteers who believed in the value of embracing differences. Community members actively participated, coming together to share laughter, stories, and, most importantly, friendship. It was a day of genuine warmth and openness, with everyone appreciating the opportunity to learn about each other’s traditions and customs.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s commitment to service and harmony was evident throughout the day. Children played together, transcending any barriers that might have separated them, while adults engaged in thoughtful conversations, finding common ground and celebrating their differences in equal measure.

The BBQ dinner was itself was a mouthwatering medley of different dishes including meats, veggies and more. Our guests enjoyed the meal and were grateful to be invited for such gathering.

One of the highlights of the event was a heartwarming speech by a representative from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, emphasizing the significance of unity and understanding among diverse communities. The speech resonated with the attendees, inspiring them to continue building bridges and breaking down barriers.

As the sun set and the day drew to a close, a palpable sense of gratitude filled the air. Neighbors departed with newfound friendships, a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity, and a shared commitment to fostering an inclusive society. This was our third year of 4th of July BBQ and Alhmadulillah we are seeing a good reception. People from cities of Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Dallas, Richardson and Plano attended the event. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s 4th of July neighborhood BBQ event served as a shining example of how unity and empathy can create a harmonious world, one gathering at a time.
